Chapter 26 - THE NEW ORDER

By late afternoon, the convoy returned to the Falcone estate. The atmosphere around the grand property had completely transformed. The heavy, oppressive security that had characterized Dante’s reign was replaced by an organized, vigilant, but calm presence. Guard dogs walked peacefully with their handlers along the perimeter walls, and the house staff moved through the halls with bright, smiling faces.

In the grand study, Dante sat behind his massive mahogany desk. The heavy gold-framed mirror had been swung back into place, concealing the empty wall safe where Elena’s ledger had once rested. The dark, dusty room was now bathed in warm afternoon sunlight, filled with the faint sound of classical music playing from a small wireless speaker near the window.

Marco stepped into the room, holding a stack of legal documents and a secure tablet.

"Boss," Marco said, standing respectfully before the desk. "Federal Prosecutor Miller has finalized the asset redistribution papers. All legitimate shipping lines, real estate holdings, and international investment funds previously controlled by Vance have been legally transferred directly into Sophia’s trust fund, managed under your sole guardianship."

Dante reviewed the documents on the tablet, signing his sweeping signature across the digital screen with a firm swipe of his pen.

"And the syndicate council?" Dante asked, setting the tablet down.

"The council members held a formal assembly an hour ago," Marco reported with a wide smile. "They signed a binding charter declaring that all physical enforcement networks are being permanently converted into legitimate private security corporations. The old street wars are over, Boss. You’ve restructured the entire East Coast network into a legal, impenetrable empire in less than twelve hours."

Dante looked out the high arched windows toward the terrace, where Sophia was happily running across the manicured green lawn with Rosa, chasing a bright yellow butterfly with her stuffed rabbit in hand.

"We didn't restructure it for power, Marco," Dante said softly, his voice echoing with absolute clarity. "We built it to ensure that no traitor, no rival, and no corrupt officer can ever threaten my daughter's future."

Marco bowed his head with profound respect. "Understood, Boss. Is there anything else you require?"

Dante reached into his drawer, pulling out the massive canvas painting Elena had created in her mountain studio—the portrait of Dante holding Sophia under the golden sunrise.

"Bring the master framer from the city gallery," Dante commanded. "I want this painting framed in solid mahogany and mounted directly above the fireplace in the main hall."

"Right away, Boss," Marco said, turning and stepping out of the study with a swift, proud stride.
