Chapter 20 - A NEW LEGACY

An hour later, Dante stood on the broad stone terrace overlooking the rolling green lawns and manicured gardens of the estate. The morning sun reflected brilliantly off the hood of his dark luxury sedan parked near the fountain, where Marco was supervising the final perimeter guard rotations.

Standing beside Dante on the terrace was Sophia, holding her battered stuffed rabbit in one hand and clutching Dante’s broad index finger with her tiny, warm fingers.

Marco walked up the stone steps, holding an administrative leather folder under his arm. He offered a respectful nod to Dante, then smiled down at the little girl.

"Morning, Princess," Marco said warmly.

Sophia giggled softly, hiding her face against Dante’s dark trousers for a second before peeking back out. "Morning, Mister Marco!"

Marco turned his attention to Dante, his expression shifting into professional focus. "Federal Prosecutor Miller just left the precinct, Boss. Vance and his inner circle have been formally indicted under federal racketeering charges. The evidence in Lady Elena’s ledger was ironclad. The Moretti syndicate's shipping operations are being frozen as we speak."

Dante nodded slowly, his gray eyes looking out over his vast estate. "And the council?"

"The remaining council members met at six this morning," Marco reported smoothly. "They unanimously voted to recognize your absolute authority over all Falcone assets, logistics, and territories. They also formally recorded the adoption papers. Sophia is officially registered as your legal daughter and sole heir to the Falcone estate."

Dante looked down at the tiny girl standing beside his boot, her long light-brown hair catching the bright golden sunlight.

The cold, violent underworld that had threatened to consume his life for three dark years was finally breaking apart, replaced by a new era of absolute protection, justice, and family. Elena’s final masterpiece was complete—not painted in oils on a canvas, but carved into the living reality of her daughter's safe, bright future.

Dante dropped down onto one knee in front of Sophia, reaching out his broad, tattoo-covered hands to gently adjust the lavender collar of her dress.

"Sophia," Dante said softly, his deep voice carrying a profound, unshakeable warmth. "Do you know what this house is now?"

Sophia looked into his sharp gray eyes, her small face lighting up with complete, absolute trust. She wrapped her small arms around his broad neck, leaning her cheek against his shoulder.

"It's our home, Daddy," Sophia whispered softly, the word slipping from her lips as naturally as a breath of fresh air. "Where we draw together."

Dante wrapped his massive arms around his daughter, lifting her easily up into his broad chest as he stood up against the bright morning sky. He held her close against his heart, knowing that no matter what storms might gather on the horizon, he would tear down mountains to keep her safe forever.

"Yes, sweetheart," Dante rasped, his voice filled with overwhelming love and pride as he walked back inside his estate. "It's our home."
