Chapter 30 - THE ETERNAL HOME

As twilight began to fall over the Brookline estate once more, the family gathered in the warm, cozy expanse of the living room. The large Persian rug was scattered with Sophia’s wooden building blocks, where she and Titan were engaged in a solemn, highly important game of constructing a giant dog fortress.

Adrian sat on the plush leather sofa, his long legs stretched out toward the hearth, holding a glass of aged scotch. Elena sat beside him, her legs tucked under her, resting her head comfortably against his shoulder as his arm held her close against his side.

The fire crackled softly, sending golden sparks dancing up the stone chimney. Through the large windows, the city lights of Boston twinkled like a million tiny stars, casting a serene, magical glow over the peaceful room.

Sophia paused in her building, looking up at her parents with a sleepy, content smile on her face.

"Mommy?" Sophia murmured, rubbing her eyes with her little fist as Titan laid his heavy head across her lap.

"Yes, my sweet girl?" Elena asked softly, her voice filled with motherly warmth.

"Are we going to stay in this big house forever?"

Elena looked up at Adrian, whose gray-blue eyes were already looking down at her with an absolute, eternal devotion that needed no words.

Adrian tightened his grip around Elena’s waist, leaning down to press a soft kiss against her hair before answering his daughter.

"Yes, Sophia," Adrian said, his voice echoing through the quiet, beautiful room with absolute certainty. "We are staying right here. This is our home... and our future belongs entirely to us."

Sophia smiled happily, curling up against Titan’s warm side as she slowly closed her eyes, falling into a peaceful, secure sleep under the watchful eyes of her parents.

Elena reached up, intertwining her fingers with Adrian’s, resting her cheek against his chest as she listened to the steady, strong rhythm of his heart. The lemon polish scent, the crackling fire, the sleeping child, and the quiet strength of the man beside her created a harmony of absolute safety and love—a permanent light that would shine through their lives forever.
