Chapter 8 - THE APOLOGY

Damon slowly lowered his gaze back down to Blake, who was trembling on the mat, his sweat dripping onto the black foam.
Damon didn't break Blake’s arm. He didn't strike him, nor did he humiliate him further. He simply maintained the light, unbreakable pressure on his shoulder joint.
"My son is thirteen years old," Damon said softly, his voice carrying clearly to every corner of the silent gym. "He came here to learn discipline, self-control, and respect. You used him to feed your ego."
"I'm... I'm sorry!" Blake gasped out, his arrogance completely gone, his face flushed with embarrassment and pain. "I'm sorry! I went too hard on him! I apologize!"
Damon held the lock for one more second, ensuring the apology was genuine and heard by everyone in the room.
Then, Damon smoothly released his grip.
Blake instantly collapsed forward onto his hands and knees, clutching his shoulder, gasping for air as he stared at the black mat in shock. He looked up at Damon with absolute terror, realizing that if the maintenance man had wanted to, he could have ended his martial arts career in less than two seconds.
Damon didn't look at Blake again. He turned calmly, walking back toward the edge of the mat where his boots and work shirt lay.
