Chapter 10 - The Dawn of Retribution and Healing
Jonathan slowly lifted his head from his daughter's shoulder. He wiped the tears from his eyes, his grief transforming into an unshakeable, terrifying resolve. He looked at Sarah, the woman who had lost everything to protect his daughter and preserve the truth about his sister's murder.
Jonathan reached out, taking Sarah's trembling hands into his own, pulling her up from the cold pavement.
"You're not hiding anymore, Sarah," Jonathan declared, his voice deep, firm, and ringing with ironclad authority. "You saved my daughter. You brought her voice back to me. From this second on, you are under my protection. Nobody will ever touch you again."
Sarah wept, nodding her head as she leaned weakly against the iron gate, exhausted after two years of living as an hunted fugitive.
Jonathan turned to Chief Miller. "Miller. Bring Sarah inside the main house. Get her clean clothes, food, and call my private medical team. Secure this property down to the inch. Nobody enters or leaves these grounds without my personal authorization."
"Understood, Mr. Vance," Miller replied, stepping forward with deep respect to escort Sarah through the wide-open iron gates into the luxurious estate.
Jonathan picked up Emily, lifting her effortlessly into his broad chest. The five-year-old girl wrapped her tiny arms around her father's neck, holding him tight, resting her cheek against his black suit jacket.
Jonathan looked down at the faded object Sarah had handed him—the key to unlocking his sister's murder and bringing down the traitors inside his empire. He held it tightly in his pocket, knowing that a war was coming, but for the first time in two years, his heart was completely whole.
He looked into his daughter's hazel eyes and kissed her forehead gently.

"Let's go home, Emily," Jonathan whispered softly.
"Okay, Daddy," Emily replied softly, her small voice ringing out like a sweet bell through the garden, declaring to the estate that the dark golden silence was officially over.
