Chapter 3 - The Fortress of Paper

By four o'clock the next morning, the twenty-fourth floor of Cole & Partners in downtown Philadelphia was ablaze with light.
While the city slept, twenty senior associates and forensic accountants sat around a long conference table covered in bankers' boxes, laptops, and glowing financial monitors.
Harrison stood at the head of the table. He had changed into a fresh black suit, his hair combed back, his posture perfectly rigid.
"Richard Harrington thinks he is protected by complex corporate layers," Harrison told his team, his voice echoing cleanly off the glass walls. "He thinks his offshore accounts in the Caymans and his shell companies in Delaware are invisible. Show him that nothing in this state is invisible to us."
His senior partner, Marcus Vance, walked up with a thick manila folder.
"We hit him hard, Harry," Marcus said. "We served emergency freeze orders on three major lenders backing his flagship development—The Grandview Towers. The bank pulled their forty-million-dollar construction line half an hour ago after learning of his personal legal liability and potential criminal indictment for the incident on the courthouse steps."
Harrison looked down at the financial report. "What about Vanessa Kensington?"
"Her interior design firm received two million dollars in unauthorized disbursements from Harrington Commercial over the last eighteen months," Marcus replied. "We've already filed a motion for fraudulent conveyance and asset conversion. Tax authorities have been notified of her undeclared income."
Harrison leaned his hands on the table, looking around at his team.
"Richard Harrington didn't just hurt my sister," Harrison said softly, his voice carrying a dangerous weight. "He tried to erase her so he could start a new life with her money. I am going to strip him of his company, his reputation, his properties, and his freedom. Every dollar he ever spent, every lie he ever told, will be dragged into the courtroom light."

"And the criminal charges?" Marcus asked.
"The District Attorney is hesitation-prone because of Richard's political connections," Harrison said, his eyes narrowing. "So we will make it impossible for the DA to look away. Release the courthouse security footage to every news outlet in the country."
