Chapter 4 - ABSOLUTE DOMINANCE

There was no pause. No hesitation. No wasted motion.

Before Derek could even process that his feet were no longer beneath him, Cole had rolled fluidly over his falling shoulder, mounting the larger man with surgical, terrifying efficiency.

Cole didn't throw a strike. He didn't yell.

He established a tight, high-mount position, pinning Derek’s upper arms against his own head using his knees. Cole’s hips drove downward with devastating, centered pressure, flattening Derek’s spine against the mat while completely eliminating his ability to bridge, turn, or shrimp away.

The speed of the transition was so breathtakingly fast that the surrounding students didn't even have time to gasp. One second Derek was rushing forward; the next, he was pinned flat on his back beneath a man who moved like a shadow.

Derek’s eyes widened in sheer shock. His face flushed a dark, angry purple as he tried to force his hips off the mat, using every ounce of his massive leg power to bridge Cole off his chest.

Cole simply adjusted his weight by an inch, sinking his center of gravity lower, absorbing the explosive heave without losing a single millimeter of position.

"Get off me!" Derek snarled, his fingers clawing uselessly at Cole’s gray shorts as he tried to push Cole’s knees away.

Cole reached down, his left hand smoothly securing Derek’s right wrist, pinning it flat against the mat above Derek’s head, while his right forearm settled lightly across Derek’s neck—not crushing his windpipe, but establishing an absolute, unbreakable physical leverage point that rendered all of Derek’s muscle completely useless.

No celebration. No anger. No arrogance.

Just total, clinical, absolute control.

Around the perimeter of the room, twenty grapplers stood frozen in utter disbelief. Purple and brown belts who had spent years being mauled by Derek stared at the scene with their mouths slightly open. A man who had dominated this mat for five years was currently being held like a helpless child by a visitor in plain gray shorts.

Derek thrashing violently, his heels slamming into the mat as he tried to roll.

Cole didn't hit him. He simply tightened his arm position by half a millimeter, applying just enough precise pressure to Derek’s neck and shoulder joints to lock his movement entirely.

Cole leaned down slightly, his face inches from Derek’s ear, his voice dropping to a cool, quiet whisper that carried across the silent room.

"Now you understand why a tap matters."
