Chapter 14 - The New Arrival

In the winter of 2029, our family grew once more.

In a quiet, peaceful delivery room at Indianapolis General Hospital—surrounded by the best medical team in the state—I gave birth to a healthy, full-term baby boy.

We named him Ethan Cole Jr., calling him "Leo" for short.

Sitting in the sunlit recovery room, I held our newborn son wrapped in a blue blanket, while Ethan sat beside me on the bed, holding three-year-old Sophie on his lap so she could meet her baby brother.

"He’s so soft, Daddy!" Sophie whispered in awe, reaching out a careful finger to touch her brother's tiny cheek.

"He is, sweetheart," Ethan smiled softly, kissing Sophie's head, then leaning down to press his lips against my forehead. "How are you feeling, my love?"

"I’m complete," I murmured, looking at my husband, my daughter, and our newborn son. "I’m completely, wonderfully happy."

Ethan held both of our children in his arms, his heart overflowing with a deep, unbreakable fatherly pride that filled the entire room with warmth.
