Chapter 13 - The Wedding of Roses

On a warm, beautiful afternoon in June 2028, Ethan and I were married in a rose garden overlooking the lake on his family's private estate outside Indianapolis.
The air was filled with the fragrance of blooming white roses, lavender, and sweet summer grass.
Sophie, now almost three years old, walked down the stone aisle as our flower girl, wearing a delicate white lace dress and a flower crown, dropping rose petals with extreme concentration and joy.
When I stepped onto the aisle, wearing an off-the-shoulder gown of ivory silk, my eyes locked onto Ethan standing at the altar.

When my hand was placed in his, Ethan leaned in and whispered, "You are the most beautiful sight in the world, Elena."
We exchanged vows we had written ourselves—vows not just of romantic devotion, but of shared commitment, resilience, and unconditional family strength.
"I choose you," Ethan spoke clearly before our gathered loved ones, "to love, honor, and protect through every storm and every sunshine, for all the days of my life."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!" the minister announced joyfully.
Ethan lifted me in his arms, kissing me deeply as our friends, family, and colleagues cheered, clapping under the warm summer sun.
