Chapter 4 - THE FILE THEY WANTED ME TO SIGN
The secured file on my phone contained three urgent notices from Naomi Price, counsel to the family trust.
While I was away, Alejandro had attempted to convene an emergency board meeting. He claimed my mission had become indefinite and that the company required permanent leadership authority. The proposed resolution would have expanded his voting power, converted his unvested performance units into immediate equity, and allowed him to borrow against company assets without trust approval.
The board refused.
Two days later, a second proposal appeared.
This one requested that the mansion be transferred from the family trust into a newly created marital-property company. Alejandro claimed the transfer was necessary for insurance and security improvements.
My signature had already been placed on the draft.
It was false.
Naomi delayed action because the trust required independent confirmation from me for any material asset transfer. My restricted mission status made immediate contact difficult, which Alejandro clearly counted on.
Camila was listed as the new company secretary authorized to certify the documents.
She had not simply entered my marriage.
She had entered the paperwork.
Emily brought me the household tablet. Its blurred files showed Camila had been photographing trust correspondence, my office drawers, and the secure storage cabinet. She had also scheduled a notary to visit the house on the morning after Valeria’s birthday.
The appointment description read: family continuity documents.
They expected me to remain unreachable for at least another week.
The plan was not complete because they still needed either my genuine signature or enough false evidence to claim I had approved the transfers remotely.
