Chapter 10 - THE ROAD AHEAD

As the sun reached its peak over the Oakridge town square, the sounds of celebration, music, and laughter continued all around them.

Ben sat proudly in his custom cherry-red cruiser wheelchair, the 1978 photograph placed safely inside a clear protective sleeve mounted on his dashboard panel. Beside him stood Duke and the Elderly Biker, chatting like old friends about classic car engines, chassis designs, and parade routes.

Several other children from the town came running over, surrounding Ben’s wheelchair with wide-eyed excitement, asking how they could help build custom car panels for next year’s parade.

"We can design a whole fleet, Ben!" one young girl with a streamer-decorated bicycle cheered. "You can be the chief engineer!"

Ben smiled brightly, turning his joystick to lead his new crew across the park lawn, his cherry-red fins glinting in the afternoon light.

Duke watched him go, leaning against his motorcycle alongside the Elderly Biker.

"He's a special kid, Duke," the old man said quietly, watching Ben teach the other children how the lightweight brackets worked.

"He sure is," Duke agreed, his dark eyes watching the boy with protective, fatherly warmth. "He showed us all that it doesn't matter how you move down the road... as long as you've got the heart to keep rolling forward."

The two veteran bikers stood together under the warm sun, watching the next generation ride proudly into the future, bound by honor, memory, and the unbreakable spirit of the open road.
