Chapter 7 - THE PRECISION STRIKE

Marcus slapped the heavy, steel-tipped tactical glass breaker into Adrian’s open palm.

The tool was eight inches long, made of solid aircraft-grade aluminum with a spring-loaded, tungsten-carbide tip designed to shatter reinforced vehicle glass with a single point-impact.

Grant Mercer leaned his upper body forward, making sure his smartphone camera captured a crystal-clear, high-angle view of the broad-shouldered mafia boss holding the heavy metal weapon.

"Documenting!" Grant called out loudly into his phone microphone. "Mr. Vale is armed with an industrial impact tool! He is approaching the vehicle in a violent manner!"

Adrian ignored the attorney entirely.

He didn't swing the tool wildly. He didn't scream. He walked with slow, deliberate, athletic precision up to the rear passenger door of the black SUV.

He didn't target the rear window where Owen’s car seat was positioned—because he knew that shattering that specific pane would shower his five-month-old son with sharp, heated glass fragments and sudden pressure shock.

Instead, Adrian stepped up to the front driver-side window—the furthest point on the vehicle from his baby’s seat.

He didn't raise his arm over his head like a madman. He pressed the tungsten-carbide tip of the tactical tool directly against the bottom-left corner of the driver-side glass, right where the structural tension of the window was weakest.

He took one slow, deep breath through his nose.

With a single, controlled push of his thumb, he engaged the internal spring mechanism.

SNAP-CRACK!

A high-frequency, metallic report echoed across the stone courtyard.

The driver-side window didn't explode into dangerous, flying shards. The tungsten tip delivered ten thousand pounds of localized pressure per square inch, causing the entire tempered glass pane to instantly fracture into a million tiny, harmless, spiderwebbed cubes.

Before the fractured glass could even fall into the interior, Adrian drove his gloved left palm flat against the center of the pane, pushing the entire shattered sheet neatly inward onto the empty driver's floor mat.

The barrier was broken.
