Chapter 10 - RECLAIMING THE THRONE
Raymond looked up from his pillow, his blue-gray eyes fixing directly onto Nora’s brave, determined face. He saw the loyalty in her eyes—a woman who had risked her life and her child's safety to protect a man the rest of the world had written off as dead.
"Bring... the strike team... to the main gate," Raymond ordered into the satellite receiver, his deep voice resounding through the quiet suite like thunder over the plains. "Secure... the perimeter. Take... Christopher... alive."
"Understood, Boss. We're rolling out now," Marcus replied before hanging up the line.
Raymond lowered his head back onto the pillows, turning his attention entirely to Nora.
He reached up his broad right arm—his strength rapidly returning as his body purged the neurotoxin—and gently touched the side of nine-month-old Theo’s pale blue baby blanket as the infant slept peacefully in Nora’s arms.
"You... saved... my life... Nora," Raymond said, his raspy voice filled with a profound, unshakeable sincerity. "You... and... your boy... are family now. Under... my protection... forever."
Tears of relief spilled over Nora’s eyelashes, tracking down her cheeks as a warm, radiant smile broke across her face. The crushing weight of fear that had plagued her for months vanished, replaced by the absolute security of knowing she was under the wing of the most powerful man in Chicago.
Outside the estate, far down the long tree-lined driveway, the faint, distant rumble of heavy black SUVs began to echo through the crisp night air, approaching the main security gates.

Raymond slowly sat up in his medical bed, pulling the IV line clean out of his hand, his massive, tattooed frame bathed in the golden light of the bedside lamp. His sharp masculine features set into an unyielding mask of supreme authority as he prepared to reclaim his empire, protect his new family, and deliver absolute justice to those who had dared to cross him.
