Chapter 14 - The New Arrival

In the spring of 2028, life brought us another profound blessing.
At thirty-eight weeks pregnant, Rosalind gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
We named her Genevieve Grace Vance—not after my mother's actions, but as a symbolic reclamation of the name, turning a symbol of past pain into a new beginning of grace and love.
I sat on the edge of the hospital bed, holding our tiny newborn daughter wrapped in a pink blanket, my heart overflowing with a gentle, profound warmth.
The door to the hospital room opened softly, and Leo and Julian stepped inside, escorted by Rosalind’s father.
The boys walked on tiptoes, looking at their new baby sister with quiet, awe-struck reverence.
"Is she our sister, Dad?" Julian whispered softly, leaning over the edge of the blanket.
"She is, Julian," I smiled, leaning down so they could see her tiny face. "Her name is Grace."
Leo reached out a careful finger, gently touching the baby’s tiny hand. Grace’s small fingers immediately curled around his index finger, holding on tight.
"She’s so small," Leo whispered, his dark eyes wide with affection. "Don't worry, Grace. Julian and I are going to protect you forever."
Rosalind looked over from her pillows, tears of pure happiness shining in her eyes as she watched our three children together.

I leaned over, kissing Rosalind’s forehead, then held our baby girl close to my chest.
Our family was finally complete.
