Chapter 7 - THE COURTROOM FOOTAGE
The neutral judge handling the case suspended the settlement hearing and issued preservation orders over the relevant phones, company accounts and filing systems.
Evelyn remained recused.
She gave a witness statement about the courtroom scene, then returned to the hospital only after another judge took control of the legal proceedings.
Federal marshals reviewed three recordings:
The courthouse security video.
Leah’s uninterrupted phone recording.
Ethan’s own public-relations backup feed.
All three showed Vanessa moving her chair closer before striking me.
Brooke’s hand entered my hair before I touched either woman.
Ethan remained seated and glanced directly at Leah’s phone after the kick.
The court reporter’s audio captured Brooke’s threat clearly.
There was no credible “accident” left to argue.
Forensic review of the blue settlement file found that paragraph forty-seven had been inserted after Maya’s team approved an earlier draft. Brooke used administrative credentials belonging to a junior attorney to replace the document in the shared review folder.
The page numbers were adjusted.
The electronic metadata remained.
Company records revealed the supposed financial crisis was also manufactured. Ethan delayed customer invoices, moved profitable contracts through an affiliate controlled by Vanessa and created short-term obligations that made the balance sheet appear weaker than it was.
The bridge lender was connected to one of Ethan’s former business partners.
If the loan defaulted, that entity would obtain rights over my shares at a fraction of their value.
Ethan was not saving Reed Medical Systems.
