Chapter 5 - CLOSED CONTENTS

"Answer me!" Dominic stepped closer, his voice echoing down the sterile corridor, causing two orderlies near the nurses' station to turn and look. "What is happening to her?"
The Older Nurse looked back down at the open chart in her hands. Her eyes scanned the medical history, the emergency contact entries, and the handwritten intake notes penned in shaky, frantic handwriting months prior.
Her knuckles turned white as her fingers tightened around the aluminum edge of the binder.
Dominic’s sharp eyes tracked her movement. He saw the official hospital intake seal at the top of the page, the black ink of Hannah’s signature, and a specific red stamp marked CONFIDENTIAL / HIGH RISK.
"What's on that chart?" Dominic demanded, his hand shooting forward to grab the edge of the aluminum folder.
Before his fingers could touch the metal, the Older Nurse snapped the chart shut with a sharp, echoing CLACK, pulling it tightly against her chest like a shield.
"Sir, you need to calm down," the Older Nurse said firmly, though her eyes were filled with a profound, quiet sympathy that chilled Dominic to his very core.
From behind the double doors, another agonizing shriek broke through the silence—a sound of pure, unadulterated physical agony as Hannah pushed through another severe contraction.

"Hannah!" Dominic yelled, turning back toward the doors, his composure entirely crumbling. "Let me through those damn doors!"
"Mr. Vale, wait!" the Older Nurse called out, stepping directly into his line of sight, holding the closed chart against her lab coat. "You can't just run in there. She is in the final stage of labor."
