Chapter 5 - The Grand Arrival

Before Emma could pull Noah toward the side exit, the massive mahogany double doors at the end of the private dining room swung open with a grand, heavy thud.

The sharp, rhythmic sound of polished leather shoes striking the marble floor echoed through the vast space.

Noah stopped in his tracks. His small face suddenly illuminated with pure, unadulterated joy. Breaking free from Emma’s gentle grip, the six-year-old sprinted across the white marble floor, his tiny shoes clicking rapidly against the polished stone.

"Grandpa Richard!" Noah called out, his young, clear voice echoing off the high coffered ceilings.

At the entrance stood Richard Blackwood. He was sixty-four years old, a towering figure of immense power and authority. His thick hair was a striking silver, perfectly combed, and he wore a dark luxury suit made of fine charcoal wool that commanded absolute respect. His face was stern and weathered by decades of high-stakes business and family drama, but the moment his dark eyes caught sight of the little boy running toward him, his hard features softened dramatically.

Richard barely had time to open his arms and drop to one knee before Noah threw his arms around the older man's neck, hugging him tightly.

"There's my little man," Richard murmured softly, patting Noah’s small back with a broad, gentle hand before standing back up, keeping his hand securely on Noah’s shoulder.

Behind Table 12, Ethan went completely rigid.

His jaw dropped slightly as he stared across the marble floor. His father—a man who had barely hugged Ethan as a child, a man whose strictness was legendary throughout the corporate world—was standing there, holding Noah’s hand with obvious, deep affection.

Beside Ethan, Victoria’s face completely lost its confidence. Her color drained away entirely, leaving her looking ghostly pale in her deep red gown. She took a subtle, involuntary step backward, her fingernails digging deep into her leather clutch.

Emma stood near the reserved table, catching her breath as she watched Richard walk toward them, his hand resting protectively over Noah’s small shoulder. The six-year-old looked completely comfortable beside the dangerous billionaire, walking with a proud, familiar stride as if this was a routine encounter.

"Father..." Ethan managed to speak, his voice choked with confusion and rising anger as Richard stopped right in front of Table 12. "What is the meaning of this? Why does this child call you grandfather?"

Richard didn't answer immediately. He looked at Noah with a faint, proud smile, then raised his eyes to meet Emma’s emotionally exhausted gaze, giving her a slow, reassuring nod. Finally, Richard turned his formidable, steel-gray eyes directly onto his son.

"This table was reserved for Emma and Noah," Richard said, his deep, authoritative voice filling the quiet room. "And they will be sitting here as my honored guests."
