Chapter 9 - THE BLOODLINE RESTORED

Adrian didn't say a word.
He reached out his broad arms, gathered four-year-old Nora into his chest, and lifted her off the marble floor into a tight, protective embrace.
Nora, completely unbothered by the sudden movement, wrapped her tiny arms around his neck, resting her head against his light-gray suit shoulder, her oversized navy tie draping over his back.
"Uncle Adrian," Nora murmured softly against his ear, using the title as naturally as if she had known him her entire life.
Adrian held her tight, his chest heaving with quiet, silent sobs as he pressed his cheek against her soft curls. He had spent four years mourning the end of his bloodline, carrying the crushing guilt that James had died alone without leaving a trace behind. Yet here she was—vibrant, beautiful, fearless, and carrying James's spirit in every breath she took.
Emma stood up slowly from the marble floor, wiping her tears with her pink apron, watching the billionaire CEO hold her daughter as if she were the most precious asset in the world.
Adrian stood up, carrying Nora smoothly on his hip. He looked at Emma, his dark eyes clear, fierce, and brimming with an absolute, unshakeable promise.
"You are done cleaning these floors, Emma," Adrian said, his voice deep, resonant, and entirely unquestionable.
Emma blinked, her hands dropping to her sides. "Mr. Cole... please, I don't want to cause trouble for your family—"
"You are not trouble, Emma," Adrian interrupted gently, taking two steps toward her and resting his free hand firmly on her shoulder. "You are the mother of James's daughter. You are family. And as long as I am breathing, neither you nor Nora will ever hide in the shadows again."
Emma looked at him, the terror that had governed her life for four years finally dissolving beneath the warmth of his words. She covered her face with her hands, letting out a long, shuddering sigh of profound, unpayable relief.
Mrs. Holloway stepped back into the grand foyer from the dining room, her hands folded neatly in front of her dark uniform, her eyes filled with quiet tears as she looked at the master of the house.
"Mrs. Holloway," Adrian called out, his voice returning to its familiar, authoritative command, though transformed by an undeniable warmth.
"Yes, Mr. Cole?" the head housekeeper answered clearly.

"Prepare the master suite in the east wing for Emma and Nora," Adrian instructed. "Call my personal legal team in Manhattan. Tell them to cancel all my meetings for the rest of the week, and have them draft the formal guardianship and family trust recognition papers for my niece."
Mrs. Holloway bowed her head deeply, a wide, genuine smile breaking across her face. "Right away, Mr. Cole."
