Rebecca spent five days trying to decide whether she was a victim or an accomplice.
Mara Collins refused to let her remain vague.
“You can be manipulated and still responsible.”
Rebecca cried.
“I know.”

Eventually, she did something useful.
She turned over the second phone.
Not the one Josephine found.

Grant had given it to her months earlier for “private project communication.”

Rebecca read that message in Mara’s office.
Then vomited into a wastebasket.
Grant had always planned to sacrifice Elias first.
Maybe Rebecca later.
The affair had not made her partner.
It made her convenient.
She signed a cooperation statement.
Admitted her role.
Agreed to return the unspent cash.
Provided hotel records and communications.
No instant immunity.
No magical absolution.
Just the first adult decision she made after months of cowardice.
