Chapter 10 - A Legacy Restored

The heavy mahogany front doors of the Mercer estate swung open, allowing the warm golden light of the interior grand hall to spill out onto the stone terrace.
Raymond carried little Leo through the entrance, with Elena walking proudly beside him, her head held high for the first time in half a year. The quiet, cold atmosphere of the mansion was instantly transformed by the presence of the young mother and child.
Inside the grand foyer, under the towering crystal chandelier, Raymond set Leo down on the polished marble floor. The little boy immediately ran toward the large window overlooking the garden, laughing as he spotted the family's goldendoodle running across the lawn.
Elena walked over to the grand fireplace, looking up at a large oil painting of Liam hanging above the mantelpiece. Her eyes filled with soft tears, but this time, they were tears of peace.
Raymond walked up beside her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder as he looked up at his late son's portrait.
"We're going to fix everything, Elena," Raymond said softly. "The trust, the estate, the foundation—it's all going into a private management structure that Beatrice can never touch. Leo's future is secure."
Elena turned to him, wrapping her arms around her father-in-law in a deep, emotional embrace. "Thank you, Raymond. Thank you for coming to the airport."
Raymond hugged her tight, looking back through the open front doors toward the Long Island gates where Beatrice's car was driving away into permanent exile.
The darkness that had threatened to destroy the Mercer family had been exposed and driven out. In its place stood a legacy reborn—not defined by corporate greed or arrogant status, but by the fierce, unshakeable protection of family love.

Raymond looked at his grandson playing by the garden window, then up at Liam's portrait, whispering softly:
"I kept my promise, son. They are safe now."
