Chapter 14 - The New Generation

By the autumn of 2029, our lives had expanded into complete, serene fulfillment.

Northbridge was recognized by Forbes as one of the top fifty most ethical and rapidly growing corporate holding firms in North America. The dark history of the Whitmore family had been completely buried beneath a legacy of philanthropy, sustainable development, and clean commerce.

In October, I gave birth to our first child at Boston General Hospital—a healthy, beautiful baby girl.

We named her Clara Whitmore, after Jack’s late grandmother who had been the original peacemaker of his family.

Sitting in the sunlit private hospital room, I held tiny Clara wrapped in a soft yellow blanket, while Jack sat beside me on the bed, holding his newborn daughter with a gentle, trembling reverence that brought tears to my eyes.

"She has your eyes, Emily," Jack whispered softly, stroking Clara’s tiny head with his pointer finger. "She’s absolute perfection."

"She’s ours, Jack," I smiled, leaning my head against his shoulder. "A clean start for a whole new generation."

Jack kissed my forehead, then leaned down to press a soft kiss against Clara’s tiny forehead, his heart overflowing with a deep, peaceful joy he had never known in his former life.
