Chapter 4 - The Lock That Ended the Noise

Thorne lunged low, trying to drive through her with raw strength.

Nora moved faster.

She caught his wrist, shifted her weight, and guided his momentum past the line where power could help him. One step. One turn. One controlled drop beside his shoulder.

Thorne hit the dirt again.

This time, he did not bounce back up.

Nora pinned his wrist flat, knee planted beside his shoulder, body angled perfectly so he could not roll without giving her more control.

No extra blows.

No cruelty.

Just skill.

Thorne strained once.

Then again.

Nothing moved.

His face twisted with humiliation as five hundred soldiers watched him trapped under the woman he had called a fraud.

The referee froze for half a second.

Nora looked down at Thorne, calm as ever.

“I told you,” she said. “I’m a Navy SEAL.”

The crowd went silent.

Not quieter.

Silent.

Dust hung in the hot air.

The soldiers packed around the fence stopped shifting. A few who had smirked earlier stared at the ground. Others stared at Nora like they were seeing the fight rearrange itself in their minds.

The referee finally stepped forward.

“Release.”

Nora eased the pressure immediately.

That mattered too.

She had total control.

And no need to prove it twice.
