Chapter 4 - The Story They Built Around My Child
The recording showed Evelyn and Melissa searching my desk within twenty minutes of arriving.
Melissa photographed bank statements. Evelyn tried keys from my kitchen drawer on the fireproof box. When Lily asked them to stop, Melissa turned her phone toward her and began provoking her.
“Are you going to throw another tantrum?”
“I’m telling Mommy.”
“Your mother left you again.”
Lily cried and ran into my bedroom.
They followed her.
For nearly forty minutes, they threatened to remove her toys, call child services, and tell the police she was dangerous. Evelyn finally called emergency services and described Lily as violent, out of control, and possibly alone without proper supervision.
She never mentioned that two adults were inside the apartment with her.
Worse, the video captured their conversation before officers arrived.
Melissa sat on my couch, scrolling through photographs of the trust documents.
“If we establish that Natalie leaves her with an unstable child-care arrangement, we can request temporary placement.”
Evelyn replied, “Once Lily stays with me, the court will want someone responsible involved with the money.”
My mother had not called the police because she feared for Lily.
She had created a crisis to manufacture evidence against me.
I sent copies of everything to family attorney Rachel Sloan. Then I contacted Officer Daniels using the report information.
The emergency call was preserved.
So was Melissa’s video.
She had uploaded part of it to a private family group with the caption: Natalie’s child completely out of control while she travels.
Several relatives had already replied that I needed to “come home and be a mother.”
I did not defend myself in the group.
