Chapter 1 - Check His Terminal

Chief Garrett forced the bruised contractor onto the bunker floor and pressed his rifle across her chest.

Broken glass shifted beneath her shoulder. Alarm lights pulsed against the concrete walls. Radio traffic cracked through the cramped operations room while soldiers moved between damaged consoles and tactical equipment.

Garrett leaned over her, fury twisting his face.

“Shut your mouth or I’ll put you down myself!”

The woman beneath him was breathing hard. A thin mark darkened the corner of her lip, but her eyes remained cold and steady.

She turned her head toward the cracked terminal.

“Check his terminal.”

Prophet, the youngest SEAL in the bunker, scrambled toward the damaged computer. He wiped dust from the screen and worked through a series of blurred security windows.

The rifle remained across the woman’s chest.

Then Prophet froze.

“Chief… she’s Ghost Six.”

Garrett’s grip loosened.

The woman pushed the rifle aside and rose slowly from the concrete. She wiped her lip with the back of one hand and nodded toward Henderson, who lay restrained near the broken logistics station.

“Henderson fed you false wind data.”

Garrett looked at the terminal.

Then at the wounded traitor.

Then back at the woman he had nearly silenced.

His voice changed.

“Then save the convoy.”

She reached for the long-range rifle resting on the sandbags.

And every person in the bunker watched the frightened contractor disappear.

Captain Marcus Stone had returned.
