Chapter 9 - THE TRAP IN THE WEST WING

The West Wing medical bay of the mansion was a state-of-the-art trauma setup, built to mirror an ICU suite. Stainless steel equipment, heart monitors, and sterile cabinets lined the white walls.
In the center of the room, six-year-old Jonah and Blythe lay asleep on two mobile hospital gurneys, their small faces pale under the bright LED lights. A private nurse was busy hanging a fresh, clear IV bag onto the metal stand beside Blythe’s bed.
Julian walked smoothly toward the nurse, reaching into his medical briefcase and pulling out a pre-sealed, dark-tinted IV bag labeled SPECIALIZED AMINO-VECTOR B12.
"I'll take over from here, Nurse," Julian said smoothly, reaching out to swap the clear saline bag for the dark-tinted one. "This is the Swiss formulation for her marrow support."
"Stop," Lawson commanded from the doorway.
Julian froze, the dark IV bag held mid-air inches from Blythe’s IV line. He turned his head slowly, looking back at Lawson with an amused expression.
"Lawson? She needs this drip immediately to stabilize her pressure."
Lawson walked forward until he was standing inches from his half-brother. Without saying a word, Lawson reached out, grabbed the dark-tinted IV bag from Julian’s hand, and threw it hard against the white tiled wall.
SPLASH!
The thick plastic bag burst on impact, splashing dark, clear liquid across the sterile white tiles.
Julian’s face went completely pale. "Have you lost your mind, Lawson?!"
Lawson pulled the crumpled Zurich toxicology report from his inner jacket pocket and slapped it flat against Julian’s chest.
"Drink it," Lawson whispered, his voice a freezing, lethal hiss.
Julian looked down at the Swiss report, his eyes scanning the toxicology seal, the chemical formula of the heavy-metal toxin, and Genevieve’s handwritten note at the bottom.

The air in the sterile room went dead quiet. The private nurse backed away slowly into the corner, her hands covering her mouth in terror.
"You poisoned Genevieve," Lawson said, stepping closer, his broad body blocking Julian's only exit. "You used a slow-acting heavy metal to destroy her organs so you could take control of the family trusts. And when I didn't step down, you started feeding the same poison to my children."
